Brian Cescolini

Brian Cescolini, a lifetime veteran of the security industry, started his career as a uniformed security guard assigned to a lonely dark warehouse in 1974 while attending college at San Diego State University. He quickly rose through the ranks and became Vice President of that local Southern California security firm. In 1981, Mr. Cescolini helped form Universal Protection Service and has presided over an extremely successful period of growth and prosperity, building Universal Protection Service into one of the most highly regarded and recognized security organizations in the United States. Mr. Cescolini oversees all aspects of Universal Services of America (Universal Protection Service, Universal Building Maintenance, Universal Protection Security Systems, and Universal Fire Life Safety Service), and his background encompasses a variety of positions working in literally every position this business can offer and many experiences he acquired while climbing the career ladder. Through the 30+ years building Universal, the company has become the 2nd largest privately held security firm in the United States and the 5th largest security firm in the U.S., a true achievement from the day he started at Universal in 1981 with just a handful of employees.

Brian has received many awards in his career most notable was the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2009 and received the first ever Vistage Leadership Award in 2010, the largest CEO organization in the US. Other awards included Fastest Growing and Top Employer amongst many other numerous accolades throughout his career.
Mr. Cescolini has prided himself along with his business partner as building one of the most highly respected management teams found in the anywhere in the security industry and that holds proof through 20 years of positive growth and has given his company the ability to compete and acquire successfully.

Mr. Cescolini’s efforts have brought him a wealth of experience in serving many of the top clients in the commercial office sector, retail, industrial, healthcare, corporate, government, and residential communities. His efforts have grown the company to employ a security force of 16,000+ security employees and are considered one of the top employers in the states that Universal services. He sits on many boards that represent the industries he services such as CALSAGA and BOMA and is an active member of many Emergency Preparedness Committees and helped create the highly publicized BOMA Safe and Secure Los Angeles security company accreditation program that formed in 2005. He participated in the implementation of California’s new security guard training law (SB2880) that passed in 2004, enhancing the training for all security guards statewide. He is an active member of BOMA, ICSC, CAI, IREM, IFMA, ASIS, CIDA and NAIOP, and CALSAGA trade associations throughout the state.
